Will you take a look at this post and let me know if you can share it with some artists or caring individuals who might be interested in contributing? Of course, this also an invitation to you and your organization to participate/contribute :-)
The piece was inspired by the many "business as usual" conversations I have had prior to and especially since starting this series. It is not part of sponsor presentation in the traditional business approach so that is not what I am trying to create. I am intentionally NOT following those "business as usual" rules.
What I am looking for are people to translate each slide by giving voice to them and adding their ingredient(s). I plan to have this completed in time for an event we are working on for Philadelphia where we will be launching a new program for those transitioning from homelessness. We have some very good relationships there that will address the sponsorship side of things, so the purpose of this piece is not to sale anyone on anything it is about expressing through art some ideas about business' role in this art series. Again I point towards "The Black Factory" (by William Pope L.) he used the corporation/business and its related processes as a metaphor and vehicle...Likewise I am exploring business as a concept in the context of art NOT trying to sale business on art.
If you know of anyone that would be interested please invite them to join and facilitate an introduction.
Your time, attention and support are greatly appreciated.
I do think you are on to something. Let's arrange a time to meet on Skype to explore this further and see where we can go from here.
I have been trying to get a meeting with a environmental reclamation service that recycles cell phone and ink cartridges so they dont end up in landfills. I am having a similar conversation with a contact in the sports apparel industry about companies taking responsibility for the life cycle of their products....this is relevant to the fashion industry as a whole.
I am working on a new performance piece collaboration that based (in part) on this line of interest - I'd be keen to know what the pulse of the fashion industry is on this level of social responsibility AND using art to help advance such initiatives.
When would you have some time to connect? I will send you a PM also.
